First Edition of India- CLMV Buyers-Sellers Meet

Building Economic Integration through Value Chains

17-18 September 2019, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with Ministry of Commerce, Government of India is organizing First edition of India-CLMV Buyers Seller Meet from 17-18 September 2019 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The event is being organized under the aegis of the India -CLMV Business Conclave.

India’s economic interests in the ASEAN region has broadened over the years; this is evident with the repositioning of the ‘Look East Policy’ to ‘Act East Policy’.

Within the ASEAN region, CLMV countries are at different levels of economic development. One of the top priorities of ASEAN Community is the integration of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam with ASEAN by bridging the development gaps.

To improve the situation and effectively assist the CLMV countries in catching up with the six more developed ones, there is a need for using variety of approaches to promote wider economic development in the region.

Attention toward the CLMV countries need to focus on development projects including promotion of transport, energy, telecommunications, environment, human resource development, tourism, trade, and agriculture, among others.

While opportunities in the region are plenty, Indian entrepreneurs’ endeavours need to be boosted.  It is with this in mind that the Government of India has taken the India CLMV Business Conclave to the region and also facilitate a Reverse Buyer Seller meet in India.

All selected buyers will be offered reimbursement for Economy Class return airfare subject to a maximum of INR 40000 (on submission of copy of passport with Indian visa page, boarding ticket and one-way boarding pass), accommodation in a Five Star Hotel for 2 nights and Internal transfers including airport pick up and drop.

The two-day programme which will consist of sectoral sessions and business to business meetings and will focus on sectors like, Agriculture & Allied Services, Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure for enhancing connectivity and Automobile Components, Machinery & Equipment Manufacturing.
