Ambassador Manika Jain paid a farewell call on Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn

On 15th September, 2020, H.E. Ms. Manika Jain, Ambassador of India to Cambodia paid a farewell call on H.E. Mr. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs (DPM). DPM congratulated Ambassador on the successful completion of her tenure, which saw many important visits, resulted in strengthening of bilateral ties, promoted friendship and expanded cooperation in various sectors. On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, he expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude for the kind assistance and support India has provided to Cambodia’s socio-economic development, including in the form of grants and loans.

Ambassador Jain expressed her pleasure and sense of fulfillment to work towards improving India-Cambodia relations and thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other line Ministries for extending their fullest cooperation in achieving the progress in the bilateral relationship. Referring to age-old historical relations between the two countries, shared culture and heritage, she recalled, inter alia, various important visits that have taken place during the last three years, including the successful visit of Prime Minister Hun Sen to India in January 2018 and other Ministerial visits between both the countries, which have set the path for furthering the relationship and created necessary impetus for not only maintaining the relations but also expanding the same. During the call, various other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
