Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day Celebrations

The Embassy of India in Phnom Penh celebrated the 54th Anniversary of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day on 26 February, 2019 in The Great Duke Hotel. Event was attended by more than 150 prominent ITEC alumni in the presence of Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs of Cambodia as Chief Guest, Dr. Sao Chivoan, Secretary of State of Ministry of Rural Development and President, Cambodia India Alumni Association (CIAA), Secretaries of State of various Ministries and other distinguished guests. Event commenced with the national anthems of both the countries and lighting of traditional lamp. Ambassador in her address highlighted the features of the programme and increasing number of Cambodian beneficiaries every year. She also mentioned about the customized programmes, GOI is conducing for groups of Cambodian officials. Ambassador’s address was followed by speech by Minister of Women’s Affairs. Minister in her speech greatly appreciated India’s assistance through various projects. She highlighted the importance of the capacity building through training in India under its ITEC programme. ICCR and FSI alumni were also invited to join the event. Many ITEC and ICCR alumni shared their experience. Event ended with Indian and Cambodian cultural performances and dinner.
