Valedictory ceremony of Sanskrit course

Valedictory ceremony of Sanskrit Course  संस्कृत समारोह   was celebrated on 1 November 2016 in the campus of Royal university of Phnom Penh.  Welcome remarks were made by Prof. Samreth Sothea, Head of Department of Linguistics, Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP).   Prof. C. Upender Rao, Visiting Professor on ICCR Chair, said that Sanskrit literature is a treasure house of ancient knowledge systems and Cambodia has rich Sanskrit tradition possessing number of Sanskrit words and ancient Sanskrit inscriptions.  In his remarks, Ambassador of India to Cambodia,  Naveen Srivastava said that Cambodia and India possess a common Sanskrit based culture.   Prof. Phal Des, Vice Rector, RUPP,  applauded the efforts of teachers and students.

On the occasion, enthusiastic Khmer students recited shlokas and conversed in Sanskrit.  Also, a video presentation about Sanskrit classes at RUPP was made.  Certificates were presented to all students who passed the course.
