Pravasi Teerath Darshan Yojana

Know India Programme of Ministry of External Affair, Government of India is a three week orientation programme for diaspora youth conducted with a view to promote awareness on different facets of life in India and progress made by the country in various fields viz. economic, industrial, education Science & technology, communication & information technology, culture. KIP provides a unique forum for students and young professionals of Indian origin to visit India, share their views, expectations and experience and to develop closer bonds with the contemporary India.

49th, 50th, 51st & 52nd KIPs are being organized by the Ministry of External Affairs from 20 Nov. to 14 Dec., 2018, 15 Dec., 2018 to 8 Jan., 2019, 5 Jan. to 29 Jan., 2019 and 16 Jan. to 09 Feb., 2019, respectively.

Eligibility Criteria:

Non Resident Indians are not eligible for KIPs. The programme is open to youth of Indian origin (excluding non-resident Indians) in the age group of 18-30 years, as on the first day of the month in which the programme is expected to begin. It is open to PIO youth from all over the world. Applicant must provide his/her previous PIO card number or that of his parents, grandparents or great grandparents. In the absence of any documentary proof of Indian Origin, the applicant must submit a written undertaking about his Indian Origin which must be attested by Embassy of India, Phnom Penh. The applicant should not have participated in any previous KIP or Internship Programme for Diaspora Youth (IPDY) Study India Programme of MEA or any other programme organized and paid for by the Ministry of External Affairs and any other Ministry/Department in Government of India or a State Government in India. Those who have not visited India before will be given preference. Minimum qualification required for participating in KIP is graduation from a recognized University /Institute or enrolled for graduation. The applicants should be able to speak in English, should have studied English as a subject at the High School (10th) level or have English as the medium of instruction for undergraduate course.

Facilities:

Selected applicants will be provided local hospitality e.g. boarding/lodging in budget hotels and internal transportation in India. Embassy of India, Phnom Penh will arrange return air tickets before participants leave for India. 10% of the total return fare is required to borne by the participants. Amount will be required to be deposited by the participant at the time of collection of air ticket. Gratis visa shall be granted to the participant by Embassy.

Interested applicants may like to Register on KIP website http://www.kip.gov.in/ and apply for the Programme on or before 15th Oct., 2018 for 49th and 50th KIPs and on or before 15 Nov., 2018 for 51st and 52nd KIPs and submit their application to the Embassy.
