Hon'ble External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj paid an official visit to Cambodia

HE. EAM Smt. Sushma Swaraj visits Cambodia

To further strengthen bilateral ties with Kingsom of Cambodia, Her Excellency Smt Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister of India, is on her first official visit to the Kingdom from 29th to 30th August 2018 with a high level delegation.

On the first day of her visit in Phnom Penh on 29th August 2018, she held a bilateral meeting with HE Dr. Prak Sokonn, Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia. Two MOUs were signed between both countries on restoration of world heritage site of Shiva Temple in Preah Vihear and cooperation between Foreign Service Institute of India and National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations of Cambodia. MoUs were signed by Ambassador Manika Jain on behalf of Government of India and HE. Mr Kim Sedara, President of National Authority for Phreah Vihear and HE Mr Dr Chhiv Yiseing on behalf of the government of Cambodia in the presence of two Ministers.

Hon’ble EAM also called on Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Kingdom of Cambodia and Samdech Say Chhum, President of The Senate. The leaders held talks to further strengthen the old-age ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation for mutual interest between both countries.

The visit of Hon'ble EAM provided an opportunity to hold in-depth discussions on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues. It advanced the engagements with Cambodia to a higher level.
